Got some super kitsch, cute and Art Deco era items for my vintage booth H29 at Glen Waverley Antique Bazaar including these darling 1930's dishes by A.J. Wilkinson Ltd made at Royal Staffordshire Pottery in Honeyglaze style (top)in scalloped gilded cream and era specific florals and Melba Ware by H. Wain & Sons Ltd at Melba Works Longton Stoke-on-Trent in age appropriate crazed jade green glaze with sweet pink poppy motif(bottom) on top of one of 2 adorable colourful hand crochet blankets. Along with some other pieces like a decent sized Mark Ryden Tree Showesque on wood slice forest and bear painting print, a big porcelain albino white and gold gilt peacock statue, a Cornish Pixie Workshop ceramic cottage, kawaii mama with baby koala ceramic money box statue, lolita style retro girl with doll and name handpainted ceramic door hanging. All of which will be in my booth as of tomorrow!

Pixie's Pearl Pinkie, Sea Greenie and Birthday Book

I wanted to share with you some images from the Pixie O'Harris Birthday Book. For those who are unfamiliar Pixie is the Australian fantasy artist from the so called golden age of children's book illustrators. She was nicknamed the Welsh Pixie by the friends she made on the boat voyage over to Australia and the name stuck ever since. Her first published fairy tale book was Pearl Pinkie and Sea Greenie in 1930.

Which supposedly from what I've read is rare and hard to find! It's on my wishlist, I'm hoping to snag a copy one day. How sweet is the cover! It's in the same kind of vein as May Gibbs's Obelia (my fav ever 1930's era storybook character!)
