Vintage engagement gifts
My partner and I recently got engaged, and to our suprise both sides of our generous parents offered to purchase us engagement gifts. They gave us a budget and let us choose what we wanted for the house and after some consideration we settled on a Smeg retro style fridge, which are made in the style of vintage fridges on the outside but with modern technology inside, so they're more energy efficient, eco friendly and reliable. And an Art Deco lounge set, which we bought off ebay in Lennox Head in New South Wales and are having delivered to us here in Melbourne Victoria via a courier service that specialises in delivering furniture and other too large to post items that are bought off ebay. I'm quite the bargain hunter so I found one for a very reasonable price and figured out that even with the courier it's still quite a good price. It'll be the first time I've used a service like this so I hope it all goes smoothly! I'll report back on how it goes and how it looks in our house. We're also looking at a vintage reproduction toaster and kettle, there's some beautiful ones on the market, more about that next time.
Here's the pics from the sellers listing:
